The Jessica bag has an iconic silhouette and simple design that is beginner friendly to make! This baguette bag is petite but also spacious enough to hold essentials. It pairs effortlessly with everything in your closet. This pattern was inspired by the decade Jess was born in and also the actress and fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker.

FINISHED SIZE: 10-1/2" wide, 6" high, and 3-1/2” deep.

FEATURES: Simple 1990s inspired baguette bag

HARDWARE REQUIRED: All of the hardware required for this pattern (2) 1-1/2" O-Rings. In addition, you can add an optional Tassel and Handmade Label. More additional optional hardware can be listed if on the back of the pattern cover.

ZIPPER REQUIRED:This pattern requires (1) 14" and (1) 7" single slide zipper. Shop our selection of Faux Metal Zippers by the Yard, to achieve the professional appearance of metal zipper teeth, but with ease of sewing with nylon!

Included with this purchase is the pattern cover and the pattern instructions. Each of our patterns are complete with step-by-step illustrations to help make the written directions easier to understand. Included are many sewing techniques and tips to help you achieve a quality, finished project. Each pattern is designed to help you learn and expand your sewing skills!

Most patterns are measured and cut, which means that the pieces will need to be cut with a rotary cutter, ruler, and cutting mat. Some patterns may include templates for shaping and/or cutting out the pieces.

Trace or photocopy the pattern piece(s) onto a separate sheet of paper. If printing or copying template(s), print at 100% or actual size. Measure the test square provided in the pattern to ensure the pieces are the correct size. Tape corresponding pieces together before cutting fabric, aligning red lines, shapes, and outer edges. It’s also helpful to write the name and cutting instructions on each pattern piece. Cut out pattern pieces along solid black lines, unless otherwise stated.

Jessica bag pattern

I admit, I struggled with getting the 3/8" SA when adding the gusset to finish the bag but I believe that has more to do with me than the pattern itself. I'm trowing myself into the shark tank to learn how to swim so I can make beautiful bags that I can be proud of so every curve ball is a new lesson learned. I struggled with the placement of the zipper so it would turn out right as well so I watched the YouTube video on repeat on that section alone. Again, I'm still learning. I did put a strip of SF101 inside of the strap so it's not too spongy feeling. But, I love my bag and it turned out looking better than I imagined. I also added a zipper pocket and a slip pocket. I will make more of this pattern because it's a great style and size.

I printed at 85%. This is a great simple bag to be carried with anything. Instructions are easy to follow.

bought this pattern because you need it to alter to become the dutton. Honestly a little more complicated than I thought. Nice bag when done. Turning thru hole is challenging but doable.
