The name and design of this pattern was inspired by our collaboration with Missouri Star Quilt Company and the classic movie, Lady Hamilton.

HARDWARE REQUIRED: All of the hardware required for this pattern is included in our 1" Level 1 Basic Hardware Kit. In addition, you can add an optional Tassel and Handmade Label. More additional optional hardware can be listed if on the back of the pattern cover.

ZIPPER REQUIRED: This pattern requires a size #5 single slide zipper (9" and 16"). Shop our selection of Faux Metal Zippers by the Yard, to achieve the professional appearance of metal zipper teeth, but with ease of sewing with nylon!

Included with this purchase is the pattern cover and the pattern instructions. Each of our patterns are complete with step-by-step illustrations to help make the written directions easier to understand. Included are many sewing techniques and tips to help you achieve a quality, finished project. Each pattern is designed to help you learn and expand your sewing skills!

Most patterns are measured and cut, which means that the pieces will need to be cut with a rotary cutter, ruler, and cutting mat. Some patterns may include templates for shaping and/or cutting out the pieces.

Trace or photocopy the pattern piece(s) onto a separate sheet of paper. If printing or copying template(s), print at 100% or actual size. Measure the test square provided in the pattern to ensure the pieces are the correct size. Tape corresponding pieces together before cutting fabric, aligning red lines, shapes, and outer edges. It’s also helpful to write the name and cutting instructions on each pattern piece. Cut out pattern pieces along solid black lines, unless otherwise stated.

Wasted a lot of Paper

I wish I had gotten the PDF download pattern. I will not pay an additional $12 for the download. The description does not make clear that you have to scan the paper pattern and print it out. So what is the point of a paper pattern? I have tried both printing programs on my computer and they both print about 1/4" too small. I am not a novice at this and find it VERY frustrating. Either print out the pattern single sided, offer the downloaded pattern with the purchase of the paper one at no extra charge (just the 4 pages of patterns, not the directions) and/or disclose that tracing or scanning the pattern is required. I specifically bought the paper pattern so I wouldn't have to print anything out. Such a waste! I am not one to complain but I am SO disappointed.

To start, I’m a little unclear whether you purchased the paper pattern or the PDF download, and where it was purchased from. That will help me look into this more accurately.

For our Emma Pattern, the product description on our website does include the note:
“This paper pattern contains multiple pages that are printed front to back. We recommend using tracing paper to trace the pattern shapes and preserve the instructions.”
We print our paper patterns double‑sided to keep production costs down and avoid raising prices for customers. Because of that, tracing is recommended so you can use the pattern pieces without losing access to the instructions printed on the reverse side.

Regarding printing: when printing any pattern at home, there should be an option in your printer settings to choose single‑sided or double‑sided printing. For sizing accuracy, we recommend setting your printer to 100% or “Actual Size” rather than “Fit to Page.” If the pattern still prints at the wrong scale after adjusting those settings, the next best step is to reach out to the manufacturer of your printer or computer system, as they can help troubleshoot device‑specific scaling issues.

I completely understand your disappointment — especially if your goal in purchasing the paper pattern was to avoid printing or scanning anything. Your feedback about clarity in the description and offering the PDF pattern with the paper version is very helpful, and I’ll be sharing it with our team for review.
