Microsuede is the faux suede, which is made from polyester fabric with a suede-like texture.  Microsuede fabric is a versatile and affordable alternative to natural suede leather. This vegan material has a soft, smooth appearance and drape. 

It is very durable and pliable which makes it ideal for bags, accessories, clothing, home decor, and upholstery. This fabric is water-resistant and easier to care for. It is a practical choice for various applications in bag making, fashion, home decor, and more.

  • Size: about 1mm thick, at least 25” wide by length of fabric purchased  
  • Fiber Content: 50% PU, 50% Polyester
  • Recommended Needle: An 80/12 universal needle is recommended, with a longer stitch length such as 2.5mm or 3mm.
  • Recommended Thread: 40 wt polyester thread
  • Recommended Presser Foot:  A Teflon foot is helpful when sewing with this material. 
  • Ironing: Do not iron microsuede.

    • Easy to Clean: Microsuede is relatively easy to clean, typically requiring just a mild detergent and water to remove most stains.
    • Lightweight: Microsuede is lightweight and suitable for various applications without adding significant bulk.

    Microsuede is sold in 1/4 yard (9 inch) increments. We will cut a continuous piece if available. This material measures 25-27″ wide.

    In order to maintain this fabric’s quality, our microsuede is rolled, sealed in a plastic bag, and packaged to protect it during shipping. We will never fold this fabric to prevent creases. 

    It is recommended to start each project with a new needle.We recommend using an 80/12 universal needle for microsuede.To clean this fabric, we recommend vacuuming away dirt and debris. For spills and stains, we recommend spraying the soiled area with a mild soap and water, or rubbing alcohol. Do not rub the stain, but instead dab the stain to remove it from the fabric.

    Luxury- Lovely

    Material is luxe and rich. Not a thin microsuede but very workable and sewable. The photo depicts the color well- it is not a bright blue, but it is not a dull blue either. perfect in-between blue. Exactly what I was looking for. During sewing I somehow got a few minor spots on it, and I dabbed a small amount of mild detergent and water- then used my hairdryer on a cool setting to dry. Worked like a dream. Recommend!

    Maya blue faux suede

    This stuff not only cuts easily but embroiders like a dream! The edges shoild be burnished as suggested by sallie, but I have not bothered. My friends still say it is amazing- and “you made that?!” So i am happy with this material
