The zip-around closure keeps everything protected, while the detachable wrist strap allows you to carry it on its own or slip it into a larger bag. Perfect for errands, travel, or nights out, this wallet offers a practical solution without sacrificing style.

HARDWARE REQUIRED: This pattern doesn't require any hardware but there is optional hardware you can add like a 1/2" D-Ring, a 1/2" Swivel Hook, a 1-1/2" Swivel Hook, (2) Small Chicago Screws or Small Rivets, (2) Decorative Mini Strap Connectors, a 47" Strap Chain, a Handmade Label and/or a Tassel Cap Zipper Pulls

ZIPPER REQUIRED: This pattern requires a size #5 zipper and (1) 15-1/2" single slide. Shop our selection of Faux Metal Zippers by the Yard, to achieve the professional appearance of metal zipper teeth, but with ease of sewing with nylon!

Included with this purchase is the pattern cover and the pattern instructions. Each of our patterns are complete with step-by-step illustrations to help make the written directions easier to understand. Included are many sewing techniques and tips to help you achieve a quality, finished project. Each pattern is designed to help you learn and expand your sewing skills!

Most patterns are measured and cut, which means that the pieces will need to be cut with a rotary cutter, ruler, and cutting mat. Some patterns may include templates for shaping and/or cutting out the pieces.

Trace or photocopy the pattern piece(s) onto a separate sheet of paper. If printing or copying template(s), print at 100% or actual size. Measure the test square provided in the pattern to ensure the pieces are the correct size. Tape corresponding pieces together before cutting fabric, aligning red lines, shapes, and outer edges. It’s also helpful to write the name and cutting instructions on each pattern piece. Cut out pattern pieces along solid black lines, unless otherwise stated.

Loves sewing with cork fabric

My latest project was the Bertie Wallet, a smaller peice than other wallet options. It works when I take a smaller bag. Directions were clear to follow and of course, the videos fill in because a picture is worth 1000 words. I also used Chicago screws for this project. Sallie's hardware really gives a finished look.

I have used several of Sallie's patterns and tutorials. They are clear and concise so that all levels of sewists can follow them.

Too brief

When I buy a pattern I expect to get all pattern pieces, not to have to make pieces. The instructions were very simplified and brief, and I had to view the video instructions to understand the process.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Judi. I’m sorry to hear the Bertie Wallet instructions felt a bit brief to you — we always want our patterns to feel clear and supportive from start to finish. The Bertie pattern includes 5 pages of instructions and 30 illustrations to walk through each step, but I understand that everyone has different learning styles, and sometimes having every piece printed out can make the process feel more comfortable.

Some of the smaller rectangles are cut‑to‑size rather than provided as templates, which helps keep the pattern streamlined, but I completely understand how having all pieces included would have made things easier for you. I’m glad the video helped fill in the gaps, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to let us know what would have made the experience better — feedback like yours helps us continue improving.
