Tips for Success:
Use an 80/12 universal needle, 40 wt polyester thread, and a zipper foot or narrow foot for best results. Press with medium heat, avoiding direct contact with the coil; also reference the recommended ironing settings for the fabric type the zipper is being attached to

Sallie Tomato Zippers can be purchased by the yard (zipper tape only, no pulls) OR in a 3 yard pack with 9 rectangle zipper pulls! If applicable, make sure to choose either #3 or #5 size tape, depending on your preference!
If ordering by the yard, the quantity you order will be the yardage you receive. You will have to purchase your pulls separately
Watch the video tutorial for using zippers by the yard here! The zipper pulls will not be attached to the zipper tape in the package. You can easily attach the pulls as needed by simply sliding the rounded end (with two openings) onto the end of the tape. Do this by inserting each side of the zipper chain into each side of the pull, and carefully lining up the ends so they are even. Then, slide the pull onto the tape. I recommend to mark the desired length of your zipper, then stitch each end before cutting.
Zippers by the yard are very easy to use, so please don’t be discouraged if your coil doesn’t line up perfectly on the first try! With a bit of practice, you’ll realize just how easy they are to use!
Zipper by the yard is a length of zipper that can be cut to multiple zippers at a specific size, and can contain a single slider or double sliders. Often, both ends of the zipper by the yard need to be sewn into a seam to prevent the slider from coming off the tape. Parts and tools can be purchased to convert zippers by the yard into closed end and separating zippers, but the process can be tedious, and we currently do not offer these parts. This type of zipper is commonly used for bags and select apparel.
