The backing plate prongs, known as the "catch part," are the unsung heroes that complete the lock. They pass through your fabric and can be securely fastened over a washer. To enhance the lock's strength, adding a layer of stabilizer in between is a pro-tip, ensuring your creations remain resilient and durable.

Size: 1" (25 mm) high x 3/4" (20 mm) wide. The groove that slides onto the bag/wallet flap has 1/4" (6 mm) opening, and the lock sits about 1/2" (12 mm) high above the bag surface.

There are two types of plating methods for hardware: hanging and rolling. For hanging finish, each item is individually dipped and later sprayed with lacquer for a long-lasting coat. This process is more labor intensive than rolling finish, and therefore more expensive. You can feel and see the difference compared to rolling finish. Bag making is a passionate pursuit and takes time, so it’s important to have purse hardware that lasts.
