I'm so glad I got this. My husband complimented the bag and asked how much it cost. He said it looked like something that would cost $75.
The only reason for 4 starts instead of 5 is that the pattern calls for 25"long strips to be cut for the strap. The fabric that came with the kit was 25"on the longest side, but that included the selvedge which is about 1"wide and not usable. The length works fine on me, but it's intended to hang an inch longer. I also would have wanted to fussy cut the design and have it go horizontal, but the only way I could get the pieces to fit the provided fabric was vertical. It's fine. I just would have done it differently with a bigger piece of fabric.
So glad that you found this kit fun to make. Our cork should be at least 25 inches and I am sorry that yours was not. We think yours turned out very nice and happy to hear that your husband thought so highly of it. We would love to see what you are making.
