In the process of deciding what combination of cork to use to make several luggage tags for a November craft show.
Hi Becky,
Thanks so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled you’re loving the luggage tag pattern—it’s such a fun and versatile project, especially for craft shows.
Choosing cork combinations sounds like a blast! You might try pairing bold prints with neutrals for eye-catching contrast, or go with metallic flecks for a festive touch that feels perfect for the holiday season.
Wishing you lots of creative joy as you prep for November—we’d love to see your finished tags when they’re ready!
Happy Sewing!
What a great finishing touch to the carry on bag i just made. Thank you so much for the gift!! It was so easy to make and looks perfect!!
So happy to hear it was an easy peasy win! We’re thrilled the finishing touch made your carry-on bag even more special. You nailed it—and you’re so welcome for the little gift! Yours turned out fantastic. Can’t wait to see what you create next. Happy travels!
I had difficulty sewing (top stitching) the cut out circle even with using a zipper foot
Thank you so much for sharing your honest feedback! We're sorry to hear that the luggage tags were tricky to topstitch, especially around the cut-out circle—even with a zipper foot. Curves and small shapes can definitely be deceptively challenging!
One tip that might help: try **raising the presser foot slightly while navigating curves**. This can reduce drag and give your stitches a smoother finish, especially when dealing with tight circular shapes. It’s a small adjustment, but it can make a noticeable difference.
Your insights are incredibly helpful, and we’ll keep them in mind as we refine design features and instructional support. Thanks again for sharing your experience—your input makes the whole sewing community stronger!
Thank you Sallie Tomato. This pattern was easy to complete and I made it in cork with a vinyl "window".
That sounds fantastic—thanks so much for sharing! We’re thrilled the pattern was a breeze and that you had fun adding your own twist with cork and a vinyl window. That combo must look so polished and professional! Can’t wait to hear where those stylish luggage tags are headed next. ✈️
Made this tag last minute before leaving for the Craftours trip to Portugal with Sallie Tomato! It started out on another bag, but switched to this bag that I bought to bring back more souvenirs of the trip. Thanks, Jess for making this adventure possible.
So happy that you were able to make the adventure. We hope you enjoyed the trip and the Luggage tag was perfect! I have passed along your words to Jess and Jake. Thank you again and if not a member-please join our Sallie Tomato Patterns and Hardware Group on Facebook. Happy sewing and traveling.
