Love this bag pattern, starting with the easy to download pattern. Very good bag for beginners with many variations in fabric arrangements and choices.

I loved making this tote bag. The instructions were easy to follow. The recessed zipper was a first for me and probably the most challenging component to the bag. However, the YouTube video very helpful. I added interior pockets to make the inside more workable for me. I am so pleased with how it turned out.

I am a true novice at sewing. I started 3 months ago and have only sewn simple curtains, pillow cases and zip pouches.
I would classify this as very challenging but very doable for a novice. Lets just say, i got to know my seem ripper very well and dropped some curse bombs but i learned alot and my bag turned out beautifully.
I had only two reasons for not giving 5 stars
1. The pocket size is too small for a phone and i wish there were pockets inside. Once i finished i could see how these things could be adjusted, but ,as a new sewer, I didnt feel confident trying to rewrite any parts of the pattern.
2. It would have been a HUUUGE help to have had actual photos rather than illustrations.

A beautiful and large tote bag with easy to follow directions. My first time adding a recessed zipper but the video eased the way.
