The Lamont sling bag was fairly easy to make until the bottom needed to be added. There was so much bulk that it was difficult to sew the bottom on. I would like to see additional tutorials on how to attach curved bottoms successfully.
The kit was complete except for the tools to attach the snap. This was not listed on the project list.
The directions were perfect until the strap. The directions said to use I or the shorter strap to attach to the top of the bag. In the video, Jess used the longer strap which turned out to be the best choice. I would recommend updating the instructions.
Thank you so much for your review, Lisa! We appreciate you sharing your experience with the Lamont Mini. Curved bottoms can definitely create extra bulk, especially with thicker materials, and your suggestion for additional tutorials is a great one — we’ll keep that in mind for future educational content.
Regarding the snap tools, the snapsetter was listed under the In‑the‑Hoop Key Fob supplies on the New Year’s Eve Checklist, along with other helpful notions. But we understand how easy it is to miss when working across multiple project lists, and your feedback helps us see where we can make things even clearer.
We also appreciate your note about the strap instructions. Your Lamont looks fantastic and thank you for sharing.

Thank you again for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback! Happy Sewing!
Didn't realize the kit only had enough to make to smaller bag. After the fact (way after) I see that but not something that was real apparent. Also wished Jess had briefly gone over the padded strap during the video or if there was a video to give a link for it. Didn't care for the new chat box. kept getting pop ups, had to reconnect and tried to make account. Not something you want to do when the live event is going on. Lastly if the coupon code to use was put in the chat. Mentioning it once isn't enough.
Thank you so much for your review, Cyndy! We appreciate you sharing your experience. The Lamont Mini Kit includes materials for the smaller size only, but we understand how that may not have been immediately clear, and your feedback helps us improve how we communicate that in the future.
Thank you as well for your note about the padded strap. A brief overview or a link to a dedicated video would have been helpful, and we’ll keep that in mind for upcoming sew‑alongs.
Sulky was the platform hosting the event, and they’re aware of the issues with the new chat box. We know how frustrating pop‑ups and reconnecting can be when you’re trying to follow along live. Your suggestion about posting the coupon code in the chat is a great one — repeating it there would make it much easier for everyone to catch.

I loved the New Year Eve sew alongs. My sister and I have a blast. I usually sew it first then I help her do hers...which then hers comes out better because I learned from the mistakes I made. LOL! Anyway see y'all again at the end of this year 2026.
Thank you so much for your review, Vera! We’re thrilled to hear you and your sister had such a blast during the New Year’s Eve sew‑along. Your sewing routine together made me smile — sewing yours first and then helping her with hers sounds like such a sweet tradition, even if it means her bag ends up even better thanks to your “practice round”! Love the photos you shared!
We can’t wait to see you both again for the next celebration at the end of 2026.

Hello, my name is Jessica Barrera and I'm the Founder of Sallie Tomato. I originally opened my shop in 2014 during college. I began by selling items that I had sewn myself. It wasn’t until 2016 that I released my first pattern, the Puppy Pillow. Now, my passion is to design quality sewing patterns, so you can create too!
Sallie Tomato provides sewing patterns, purse hardware, handbag zippers, cork fabric, and select sewing supplies for bag making.
The name of my shop developed around my middle name, Sallie. Also, the tomato pin cushion is a well-recognized symbol of sewing. Thank you for visiting my website!
