Fashionable and functional, you’ll love how the Evelyn bag can elevate any look while not compromising utility. This medium-sized bag can be carried crossbody, or add our Grommet Strap Connectors to also carry as a handbag. Inside this bag’s roomy interior is a slip pocket and zipper pocket for easy organization.

FINISHED SIZE: The finished size is 14-1/2 inches wide (at the top of the bag) 9 inches at the base of the bag, 10" high, and 5” deep.

PATTERN DIFFICULTY: 3 Intermediate

FEATURES: accented exterior, interior zipper pocket, interior slip pocket, top zipper closure, adjustable crossbody strap, optional handles attached with grommet strap connectors, boxed bottom, and hidden exterior slip pockets*

*The hidden exterior slip pockets could be considered a hidden pocket for concealed carry.

PATTERN HACK: After the bag is completely assembled, simply take four small Chicago screws and install one at each corner of the Accent, just below the zipper topstitching and about 1/4" in from the Accent edge. This will prevent the optional handles and hardware from folding forward and maintain this bag's sleek shape.

HARDWARE REQUIRED: All the hardware needed to make this pattern is included in our Level 3 Basic Hardware Kit 3/4", optional hardware is (4) Bag Feet, (1) Handmade Label, (4-10) Small 6mm Chicago Screws, (1) Tassel Cap, (4) 3/4" Grommet Strap Connectors, and (1) 1/2" Zipper End.

ZIPPER REQUIRED: This pattern requires a 10" and 16" single slide zipper. Shop our selection of Faux Metal Zippers by the Yard, to achieve the professional appearance of metal, but with ease of sewing with nylon!

Included with this purchase is the pattern cover and the pattern instructions. Each of our patterns are complete with step-by-step illustrations to help make the written directions easier to understand. Included are many sewing techniques and tips to help you achieve a quality, finished project. Each pattern is designed to help you learn and expand your sewing skills!

Most patterns are measured and cut, which means that the pieces will need to be cut with a rotary cutter, ruler, and cutting mat. Some patterns may include templates for shaping and/or cutting out the pieces.

Trace or photocopy the pattern piece(s) onto a separate sheet of paper. If printing or copying template(s), print at 100% or actual size. Measure the test square provided in the pattern to ensure the pieces are the correct size. Tape corresponding pieces together before cutting fabric, aligning red lines, shapes, and outer edges. It’s also helpful to write the name and cutting instructions on each pattern piece. Cut out pattern pieces along solid black lines, unless otherwise stated.

Currently my favorite purse! Lots of little hidden pockets. This is the first bag that I’ve sewn on my machine (I usually hand sew), and I found the instructions to be fairly easy to follow. And when I got stuck, the video tutorial got me unstuck ;)
