Gum Tragacanth is used as a base coat. It provides a layer between your project and the color you have chosen, which allows for the color to go on smoother and not have to be absorbed into the project fibers.

*If unopened, Edge Kote is good for 3 years depending on how it is stored. Possibly longer under ideal conditions (i.e. room temp, no temperature fluctuation, etc)

Opened it varies much more. It could be 3 months to a year depending on how it is used, how it is stored, how long the product is left unsealed while using, head space, and cleanliness of the workspace.*

Edge Kote

Love the product. Very easy to use. I made the Mia bag as my first project. Applied the Edge Kote on the strap. Took a little time-be patient. Used 3 coats of the gum base and 3 coats of the EdgeKote color. Well worth the final outcome. Video was also helpful. This product made a huge difference in the finished look of the crossbody strap. I also used it on the Toto collar and leash.
