October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Sallie Tomato is proud to raise awareness worldwide through the participation in the #SewPink Initiative!
The #SewPink Initiative, through ByAnnie.com LLC, aims to spread valuable information to "encourage people to get their screenings, come together as a community, and donate to breast cancer research. We believe breast cancer awareness is important all year, and although we emphasize it in October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), our continuous goal is to provide resources and awareness year-round." This is our first year participating in ByAnnie.com's blog hop! We think this is such an amazing way to promote awareness and encourage self care and early detection. It also serves as a great support to all those impacted by breast cancer.
For our project on the blog hop, we chose to make the Connie Backpack. We chose this pattern because we wanted to create something that would be useful and hopefully bring a little joy to those who may be going through treatments now, or breast cancer survivors.
This Connie Backpack features "Uncorked" Fabric for the exterior, Sallie Tomato Rose Gold Hardware and Zippers, ByAnnie Mesh and Elastic, and Botanica Fabric for the lining. If you'd like to make your own SewPINK Connie Backpack, and help contribute to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, we've put together kits. We're proud to have curated these kits for a cause.
