Accessorize your purse or tote bag with an easy-to-sew scarf. This project is designed to use a long narrow piece of fabric that has a soft drape, so you might wear the scarf as well. I think you’ll enjoy the simplicity of this project, you can choose to machine, or hand sew. This project adds stylish flair to any bag or tote!

Today's project features a narrow piece of rayon, you can certainly choose a similar lightweight fabric that has a fluid hand. The finished size of the scarf is approximately 3" (7.6cm) wide and 40" (101.6cm) long. Let’s get started!
MATERIALS & SUPPLIES
- Main Fabric: rayon, challis, chiffon, georgette, gauze, organza, or silk
- Scissors
- 40wt Polyester, Cotton, or Silk Thread
- Sewing Clips
- Pins
- Basting Tape
- Stiletto
- Hot Hemmer or Hot Ruler
- Zipper Foot or very narrow foot
- Optional: 1-1/2" O-Ring
- Optional: hand sewing needle

INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1. Measure 1/2" (1.2cm) from corners along each side. Draw a line between adjacent side marks, then trim off the corners, following each line.
Cutting off the corners helps reduce bulk for the following steps.
