We've created yet another itinerary for you to enjoy this trip "Around the World" in its entirety! We're still exploring new landmarks together for the rest of the year, so grab your bags! Whether it's a place you've never heard of before, or one of the 7 Wonders of the World, we're going to find out together, and visit iconic destinations every month!
In the month of April, we've been "visiting" the vast, breathtaking region of France - with more magnificent countries to see! Take a look at this lovely itinerary!
1. Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy
First on our itinerary of places to visit, we are making a stop at Mont-Saint Michel. You’ll enjoy the peaceful serenity of Mont Saint-Michel and appreciate the pastoral landscape of apple orchards, woodlands, and cow pastures. Also stop by the Abbey church to marvel at the historic Gothic Architecture!
2. The Châteaux of the Loire Valley
Next up, we are heading over to the magical scene of The Châteaux of the Loire Valley! Like a scene from a fairy tale, magnificent castles are scattered throughout this densely forested landscape! Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage and feel like royalty!
3. The Loire Valley: The Garden of France
The Château of Chambord is considered to be the most beautiful in the Loire Valley. Hovering over the Cher River, it is most revered for its unique mix of Gothic and Renaissance architecture. You’ll definitely want to cross this destination off your list for places to visit!
4. Corsica: The Island of Beauty
This luscious island of Corsica is known as the island of beauty- And for good reason! Captivating and charming in its own way, the island is home to an abundance of free-roaming wildlife including pigs, cows, goats, and sheep.
5. Strasbourg
This next stop is a must see! Strasbourg sits right in between France and Germany and is the capital city of the Alsace region. Strasbourg plays an important role in the European Parliament and numerous other European Institutions. There is a blend of both French and German architecture with signs in both languages, the center offers many museums and striking attractions such as the stunning Gothic cathedral, which features pink sandstone, intricate carvings and a 300-year-old working, astrological clock that can’t be marveled with only pictures!
6. Louvre Museum
Can you believe that the Louvre Museum is the most visited museum in the world?! Once home to French kings, it now houses some of the best-known works of art including the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo.
7. Palace of Versailles
We have another must-visit kingly residence that will make you feel a part of French culture and history! The Palace of Versailles is another royal residence and its walls have been well preserved to this day as the exterior facade overlooks the Marble Court. Just another reason to add this place to our itinerary!
8. French Riviera
One of the final places that we must see is the French Rivera, which sits on the Mediterranean coastline of the southern corner of France. This boundless region is remarkable in that each season has the perfect weather balance—no frost in the winters, and cool summers!! How awesome is that?!
9. Brodeuses et Couturières, France.
We spotted another sewing company while here in France, which was founded in 2010 by Annika and her husband. The love of sewing comes from all over the globe! "I wanted to create a place where my customers can come to meet me in real life, where we can share our passion for textile creation. The first shop was created in St Yrieix la Perche, a small town in Limousin and 15 minutes from my home. However, I knew that the shop I dreamed of would be in a bigger city. I transferred in 2014 to Limoges, and now, "Embroiderers and seamstresses" has become the essential place for lovers of sewing, patchwork and embroidery. Check out their full collection from this link!
